Lil Wayne is breaking his silence in the most Lil Wayne way possible, with a cryptic yet fiery response to Kendrick Lamar’s lyrics that seemingly call him out on the surprise album GNX.

Taking to X/Twitter, Wayne didn’t mention Lamar by name but left no doubt he was addressing the drama sparked by the NFL’s decision to pick Lamar over him for the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show.

“Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head,” Wayne wrote. “Let’s not take kindness for weakness. Let this giant sleep. I beg u all. No one really wants destruction, not even me, but I shall destroy if disturbed. On me. Love.” Talk about a peace warning with a side of destruction!

The feud seemed to ignite when Lamar rapped on the track “Wacced Out Murals,” directly referencing Wayne’s influence and the Super Bowl controversy: “I used to bump ‘Tha Carter 3,’ I held my Rollie chain proud. Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down… Got the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me, all these n**s agitated I’m just glad it’s on they faces.”

Wayne has made it no secret he felt snubbed when the NFL passed him over for Lamar, especially with this year’s game being held in his hometown of New Orleans. During his recent Lil Weezyana Fest, Wayne told fans, “I said to myself, ‘I want to be onstage for the Super Bowl one day, in front of my mom.’ And I worked my a* off to get that f**kin’ position. It was ripped away from me. But this moment right here — they can’t take that away from me.”*

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar’s GNX is already dominating headlines, featuring appearances from SZA, Roddy Ricch, and others, with many of the album’s tracks sparking conversations across the industry. Whether this clash between two hip-hop icons will escalate remains to be seen, but Wayne’s latest post makes it clear he’s not one to back down.
