Snoop Dogg has once again proven why he’s the king of chill. The West Coast legend took to social media to react to a line Kendrick Lamar dropped about him on the song “wacced out murals” from Lamar’s latest album, GNX. The verse references a moment that Snoop might have hoped was water under the bridge—his decision to post Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” diss track years ago.
Lamar didn’t hold back on the track, rapping, “Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made.’ I prayed it was the edibles. I couldn’t believe it, it was only right for me to let it go.” The lyric didn’t go unnoticed by Snoop, who responded with his signature humor, writing on X (formerly Twitter), “K Dot new album GNX. [fire emojis]. It was the edibles. West West King.” Fans immediately picked up on the playful response, praising Snoop for keeping things lighthearted while acknowledging Lamar’s lyrical jab.
This isn’t the first time Snoop and Kendrick have crossed paths creatively. The two performed together during the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show in 2022, sharing the stage with fellow icons Dr. Dre, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige. Their connection as two pillars of West Coast rap has always been strong, making the exchange even more entertaining for fans.
Snoop wasn’t the only artist to get a mention on “wacced out murals.” Lamar also took a shot at Lil Wayne, referencing Wayne’s dissatisfaction over Lamar being chosen as the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show headliner. “I used to bump Tha Carter 3, I held my Rollie chain proud. Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down… Got the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me, all these n****s agitated I’m just glad it’s on they faces,” Lamar rapped. Wayne later responded on social media, saying, “Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head.”
Snoop’s response, though, stole the spotlight, proving that he can take a lyrical jab in stride. His good-natured humor and respect for Lamar’s craft have only endeared him further to fans.
