Baker Mayfield Sues Father’s Company Over Alleged $12 Million Fraud

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily, are taking legal action against Mayfield’s father’s company, alleging it swindled them out of a massive $12 million. The suit claims the money was used to cover acquisitions and operational expenses, including payroll, without the couple’s consent.

“The defendants then allegedly used the money however they desired, ‘including to fund acquisitions or to cover general operating expenses (such as to meet payroll obligations),’” the lawsuit states, as reported by KOCO.com.

Fans are now speculating whether Mayfield’s infamous “money celebration” during the Buccaneers’ win over the New York Giants on Sunday was a subtle dig at his father’s company, rather than a shot at Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito.
