Production has officially begun on the highly anticipated fifth and final season of The Boys, and series showrunner Eric Kripke is already teasing fans with what’s to come. To mark the occasion, Kripke shared the first page of the Season 5 premiere script on social media, revealing the episode’s title: “Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite.”

Written by executive producer Paul Grellong and directed by Phil Sgriccia, the title has fans speculating about its connection to the show’s outrageous characters and jaw-dropping twists. Could it reference the return of fan-favorite Love Sausage (Derek Jones), known for his… unique abilities? Love Sausage last appeared in the infamous “Herogasm” episode of Season 3 and has become a cult favorite among viewers. The title also harks back to Issue 14 of The Boys comics, hinting that the series could draw directly from the source material.

Alternatively, the title might tease the introduction of a new character, Bombsight (Mason Dye), the third-oldest supe in history. With powers tied to high-frequency manipulation and longevity, Bombsight could play a key role in Homelander’s story, particularly his quest for eternal dominance. Fans are also theorizing that the “dynamite” title could reference explosive secrets hidden in government facilities or Homelander’s escalating plans under martial law.

Season 5 will see the return of the core cast, including Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Antony Starr as Homelander, and Erin Moriarty as Starlight, among others. The stakes couldn’t be higher after the Season 4 finale, which saw Butcher unleash a deadly supe-killing virus and Homelander consolidate control of the government. As Kripke aptly teased in his announcement: “One. Last. Ride.”

Fans can also look forward to new faces joining the fray. Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs is confirmed for a mysterious role, adding even more intrigue to an already stacked cast. With surprise appearances in past seasons by stars like Tilda Swinton and Will Ferrell, it’s safe to say the final chapter will pull out all the stops.

While Season 5 marks the end of the main series, the world of The Boys is far from over. The spin-off series Gen V is slated to return in mid-2025, and the upcoming prequel Vought Rising promises to bring back Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash). Could crossover appearances tie these narratives together? Fans will have to wait and see.

What do you think “Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite” means for Season 5 of The Boys? Are you excited for Billy Butcher’s final showdown with Homelander, or do you have other theories about the explosive finale? Share your thoughts below!
