The full trailer for Dexter: Original Sin, the prequel series, has officially dropped, and it’s giving us a whole new perspective on the iconic antihero.
Patrick Gibson takes center stage as a young Dexter Morgan, with OG star Michael C. Hall lending his voice to narrate Dexter’s signature dark inner monologue.
Set in the sizzling streets of 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin explores Dexter’s transformation from an ordinary student to the avenging serial killer fans know so well. According to the official synopsis, “When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness.” Thankfully, he has his father, Harry (played by Christian Slater), to guide him in developing the infamous “Code” that ensures his victims are always deserving of their fate.
The prequel series offers a fresh take on the Dexter universe, with an impressive cast including Molly Brown, Christina Milian, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, and special guest stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Patrick Dempsey. Fans can also look forward to Dexter’s early days as a forensics intern at the Miami Metro Police Department—a thrilling new twist that’s sure to add depth to the story.
