Alyssa Milano has officially left X/Twitter after facing a wave of criticism for a controversial tweet.

On November 26, the actress announced her decision to trade in her Tesla for a Volkswagen EV, citing concerns over Twitter’s alignment with “hate and white supremacy” under Elon Musk’s leadership.

“I gave back my Tesla. I bought the VW EV. I love it,” Milano tweeted. “I’m not sure how advertisers can buy space on Twitter. Publicly traded company’s products being pushed in alignment with hate and white supremacy doesn’t seem to be a winning business model.”

However, her statement quickly backfired. Critics were quick to point out the problematic origins of Volkswagen, founded in Germany during the Nazi regime with ties to forced labor. Many questioned how Milano could denounce Musk while appearing unaware of the historical baggage tied to her new purchase.

One user’s response summed up the sentiment, writing: “Another example of why entertainers should stick to entertaining. Alyssa Milano rips on Elon Musk, yet has no idea who started Volkswagen, and where the labor came from.”

The backlash only intensified, with users mocking the irony of her stance and questioning her knowledge of the companies she supported. Facing mounting criticism, Milano deleted her X account altogether, removing her presence from the platform she condemned.

The incident has reignited debates about the role of celebrities in social and political discussions. Should stars be held accountable for their statements, or is it unfair to expect them to have full knowledge of every topic they address? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
