“Yellowjackets” fans, get ready for a wild ride as the hit show takes a dramatic leap forward in Season 3.
Set to premiere on Valentine’s Day 2025, the upcoming season will introduce time jumps in both of its timelines, according to co-creator Ashley Lyle. Entertainment Weekly recently dropped nine new photos, teasing the chaos that lies ahead in the lives of our favorite wilderness survivors.
The dual timelines of “Yellowjackets” have always been central to its intrigue, and Season 3 is turning up the heat. “There’s a bit of a time jump in both timelines,” Lyle revealed, hinting that the aftermath of the Season 2 finale will play a pivotal role. The new stills give fans a peek at the fallout, with the 1996 and 2021 versions of the characters grappling with the same lingering horrors.
For those catching up, Season 2 ended with teen Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) crowned as the “Antler Queen” in the wilderness, while adult Natalie (Juliette Lewis) tragically died at the hands of Misty (Christina Ricci). “Misty is handling it great,” Lyle quipped, adding that Natalie’s death will deeply affect all the survivors. The co-creators promise that tensions between Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) and Lottie (Courtney Eaton) will escalate, keeping the drama alive in the 1996 timeline.
Meanwhile, adult Van (Lauren Ambrose) and Taissa (Tawny Cypress) will explore a complex dynamic. Co-creator Bart Nickerson explained, “They’re trying to recapture some of the best of themselves from that time, too.” But don’t expect the darkness to stay buried. “The consequences of what they went through didn’t end in the past,” Lyle emphasized, keeping fans guessing about the deep psychological scars carried by the group.
As for the survival drama, the show isn’t shying away from its bold themes. The shelter fire at the end of Season 2 will force the teens to push their resourcefulness to the limit. And yes, the cannibalism is here to stay. “The cannibalism cat is out of the bag,” Lyle confirmed, teasing even more jaw-dropping moments.
With its eerie mysteries and gut-wrenching twists, “Yellowjackets” Season 3 is already shaping up to be one of the most intense chapters yet. Fans can stream past episodes on Paramount+ while gearing up for the new season’s premiere on February 14, 2025.
