Khloé Kardashian is opening up about a shocking betrayal that forever changed how she handles her mental health.

In a revealing interview with Bustle, the reality star shared how her former therapist allegedly leaked private details about her divorce from Lamar Odom to the tabloids, leaving her reeling and turning to the gym as her sanctuary.

“I remember I was going to therapy, and the next thing I knew, something private I told my therapist was on a tabloid,” Khloé said. “And I knew that my therapist disclosed this information to a tabloid because there’s no way this could have gotten out there.”

Khloé, didn’t share the specifics of what was leaked about her 2013 split from the former NBA player, which stemmed from his infidelity and struggles with addiction. However, she described the betrayal as “very jarring and sort of unbelievable,” adding, “There’s not a chance in the world that it came from anywhere else.”

The incident left Khloé deeply mistrustful, leading her to abandon therapy altogether for nearly 10 years. Instead, she channeled her emotions into fitness. “I stopped going to therapy and started going to the gym,” she explained. “I needed a release, but I did not trust anybody else anymore. And the place that I felt the safest was the gym.”

It wasn’t until her older sister, Kim Kardashian, encouraged her to give therapy another shot that Khloé finally returned to counseling. “I started when I was 39,” Khloé said. “It’s actually Kim’s therapist. Kim was really adamant. I was like, ‘I’ll do this for you.’ I dragged my feet, and then I was like, ‘Wow, OK, this is good. I needed this.’”

Now, Khloé is thriving in her 40s, feeling better than ever both physically and emotionally. “I am in the best shape of my life. I’m doing new career stuff. I’ve only been 40 for about six months, but it’s the absolute best.”

Reflecting on her growth, Khloé shared that she’s let go of many of the things that once weighed her down. “Intentionally, at 39, I tried to close a lot of chapters,” she said. “There are so many new things that I’m doing in my first year of 40 that I know for a fact my 40s and on are going to be f–king incredible.”
