Eric Kripke, the mastermind behind The Boys, has officially confirmed that production for the show’s fifth and final season is underway.
Taking to X/Twitter, Kripke shared a behind-the-scenes photo featuring himself alongside Chace Crawford (The Deep), Antony Starr (Homelander), and Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir II). “They saved me. They saved me in every way a man can be saved,” Kripke captioned the post, teasing fans with their first glimpse of the new season.
Filming has kicked off with a bang, and episode one has been intriguingly titled “Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite.” The season also promises fresh faces, including Mason Dye from Stranger Things as Bombsight, one of the oldest supes in the show’s lore, and Daveed Diggs, best known for Hamilton and Snowpiercer, in a mysterious role. Despite speculation surrounding his character’s fate, Jessie T. Usher confirmed that A-Train will return, much to the relief of fans.
While details about season 5’s plot are still under wraps, it’s clear that this final installment will wrap up the fiery feud between Billy Butcher and Homelander. Kripke has hinted at leaving the door open for more stories in the The Boys universe, with spinoffs like Gen V, The Boys: Mexico, and Vought Rising already in development.
With season 4 setting the stage for high stakes and jaw-dropping moments, fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Karl Urban’s Butcher, Jack Quaid’s Hughie, Erin Moriarty’s Starlight, and the rest of the ensemble cast. The Boys has redefined superhero narratives since its 2019 debut, blending dark satire with unrelenting action, and season 5 is set to deliver an unforgettable finale.
