Taylor Swift’s 2024 reign shows no signs of slowing down. The global superstar has been crowned Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year for the second consecutive time, solidifying her status as a music industry titan.

“That’s right, it’s Taylor Swift!” Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s Global Head of Editorial, announced during a press briefing. “With more than 26.6 billion streams globally this year, Taylor is our Global Top Artist for the second year in a row.”

Swift’s record-breaking year was propelled by her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD), which dropped on April 19. On release day, Swift set a Spotify record as the most-streamed artist in a single day and continued smashing milestones as TTPD became the first album to exceed one billion streams within a week.

Her success wasn’t confined to streaming. The Grammy winner’s Eras Tour became the highest-grossing tour of all time, as confirmed by Pollstar. Data revealed each show grossed over $17 million, with ticket prices averaging $238 and crowds exceeding 72,000 per night.

Swift’s achievements pushed her to billionaire status earlier this year. Forbes named her the world’s richest female musician in October, estimating her net worth at $1.6 billion, surpassing Rihanna’s $1.4 billion.

In addition to her professional accolades, Swift found personal happiness, cementing her romance with NFL star Travis Kelce. The couple has become a cultural phenomenon, garnering significant media attention throughout the year.

The Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, wraps on December 8 at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia. Swift will then celebrate her 35th birthday on December 13, capping off an extraordinary year filled with milestones and record-breaking achievements.
