NBA YoungBoy has officially been sentenced to 23 months in federal prison, followed by 60 months of probation.

The charges stem from two separate cases—one involving a Baton Rouge video shoot in 2020 and another related to a firearm found at his Utah home in 2024. The rapper is now slated to be released in 2026.

The legal drama began in September 2020, when YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, knowingly possessed firearms while filming a music video in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The case escalated in April 2024 when a search warrant at his Utah residence uncovered a Sig Sauer pistol in his master bedroom.

Documents from the sentencing obtained by Thirsty for News reveal that Gaulden pleaded guilty to both charges, acknowledging his actions. “I admit I knowingly possessed two firearms during the filming: a Glock 21 .45 caliber pistol and a Masterpiece Arms MPA30T 9mm firearm,” he stated.

Under the plea agreement, the rapper faces a structured sentence. Along with the prison time, YoungBoy will serve 60 months of probation and pay a hefty fine of $200,000. The deal prevents the United States from seeking additional firearm charges from related incidents.

Fans of YoungBoy will undoubtedly feel his absence from the rap scene during his incarceration. His sentencing underscores the consequences of past actions, even as his music continues to dominate charts.
