Jamie Foxx’s birthday celebration took a dramatic turn Friday night when the Hollywood star was reportedly injured during a heated altercation at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills.
TMZ reports that Foxx, who was dining with his family, became involved in a dispute with another table that escalated into an alleged assault.
According to a spokesperson for the actor, “Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands.”
The incident reportedly began when customers at a neighboring table were being loud and vulgar. A witness said that Jamie asked them to tone it down since his family was present. That’s when someone at the table allegedly hurled a glass at Jamie, striking him in the face.
Law enforcement sources confirmed that police were called to the upscale restaurant around 10 PM to respond to a report of a fight. By the time officers arrived, Jamie had already left the scene, and a police report was filed listing him as one of the involved parties. Officers will reportedly follow up with the actor as part of their ongoing investigation.
Photos captured earlier in the evening show Jamie arriving at Mr. Chow with his daughters, Corinne and Anelise Foxx, and his former partner, Kristin Grannis. Witnesses at the scene said the altercation left Jamie visibly shaken, but he did not wait for medical attention at the restaurant.
Jamie’s visit to Mr. Chow was initially meant to be a celebratory outing following the release of his Netflix special earlier in the week. However, the evening took an unexpected turn with this violent incident, leaving fans shocked and concerned about his recovery.
