A shocking tragedy unfolded Monday morning at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, where a 15-year-old student carried out a deadly shooting that left a teacher and a student dead, several others injured, and ended with the shooter’s suicide.

Authorities identified the shooter as Natalie Rupnow, who went by the name Samantha, a revelation that stunned the community due to her young age and gender.

At a press conference, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes recounted the terrifying events, noting that the initial 911 call came from a second-grader at the school. “Soak in the fact that such a young girl made the 911 call,” Barnes urged, underscoring the unimaginable circumstances.

The attack began around 11 AM Monday in the school’s study hall. Responding officers arrived within four minutes to find multiple gunshot victims. Tragically, one teacher and a teenage student were pronounced dead at the scene.

Six additional students and another teacher were seriously injured, with two students currently in critical condition. Three others, along with the teacher, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Rupnow reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound while being transported to the hospital.

As the investigation into Rupnow’s motive continues, Chief Barnes assured the public that authorities are working diligently to determine what led to the horrifying attack.

This devastating incident has left the Madison community reeling, as parents, students, and teachers search for answers in the wake of such unimaginable violence.
