Tony Buzbee, known for taking on high-profile cases, has fired a legal shot at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, accusing the company of illegally soliciting clients to take action against him and his law firm. In a bombshell announcement via AllHipHop, Buzbee alleged that Roc Nation’s actions violated state laws, including barratry and impersonation of public officials.
The lawsuit stems from what Buzbee described as a deliberate campaign to obstruct his work on cases tied to the Diddy litigation in New York. Buzbee, who is representing a woman alleging sexual assault by Jay-Z and Diddy in 2000, claims Roc Nation agents impersonated Texas state officials to pressure former clients into filing frivolous lawsuits against his firm.
“This illegal conduct has happened more than two dozen times to date and has resulted in two utterly frivolous cases against the firm,” Buzbee stated. “The Defendants’ conspiracy is intended to obstruct justice and prevent the Buzbee Law Firm from pursuing cases related to the Diddy litigation.”
Buzbee didn’t stop there, alleging that the illegal activities were caught on tape and have been reported to authorities. In a fiery conclusion, he warned that his firm would not back down.
“Let me be clear: we will not be bullied or intimidated. The Defendants this time overstepped, got sloppy, and stupidly got caught at their illegal scheme on tape,” Buzbee declared. “We intend to cooperate with the authorities to ensure all involved are prosecuted to the full extent allowed under Texas law.”
This legal feud is heating up, especially as Roc Nation and Jay-Z’s legal team have accused Buzbee of coercing victims into implicating Jay-Z and Diddy in unrelated allegations.
