Brittany Furlan Reveals Tommy Lee Only Showers Once a Week

Brittany Furlan didn’t hold back during her appearance on the Off the Vine podcast with Kaitlyn Bristowe, where she got candid about her marriage to rock legend Tommy Lee. One topic that really caught listeners’ attention? Lee’s unconventional hygiene routine.

According to Furlan, the 62-year-old Mötley Crüe drummer showers just once a week. “My husband’s very neat, which people wouldn’t expect from someone who’s a musician,” Furlan explained. “He doesn’t shower a lot, but he’s very neat.” She added that Lee’s upbringing in Athens, Greece, influenced his approach to hygiene. “He said growing up… that that’s a thing in Europe. You don’t need to shower every day. They would just do the white washcloth if they felt like they were getting a little funky.”

When Lee skips a full shower, he opts for what Furlan calls a “bird bath,” while she, on the other hand, sticks to a nightly shower routine. “This hair is so thick, so I wash the hair like once a week,” she said, “and then I shower every night.” Furlan admitted that she’s so “overly clean” that she’s likely “stripping [her] body of all the oils it probably needs.”

Despite their differences in shower habits and even sleep schedules—Furlan is a self-described night owl, while Lee is up at 6:30 a.m.—the couple makes their relationship work by prioritizing quality time together. “We sit and talk… no phones, and we just talk about our day,” Furlan shared. “Every day is like a little date night.”

As for whether Lee ever gives her the “ick” (an internet term for sudden partner repulsion), Furlan was quick to dismiss the idea. “No, because he’s so handsome. It’s really crazy. He doesn’t really give me the ick,” she gushed.

The couple, who tied the knot in February 2019, have no children together, though Lee shares two sons, Brandon and Dylan with ex-wife Pamela Anderson. Furlan and Lee’s unique dynamic proves that opposites really do attract, even when it comes to shower routines.
