Paris Hilton is celebrating a monumental achievement in her fight against child abuse after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act, a bill she championed. The legislation, which has already cleared the Senate, aims to increase oversight of treatment facilities for children. Hilton, who has been vocal about her own experiences of abuse at a boarding school, was visibly moved by the victory.
“This moment is proof that our voices matter, that speaking out can spark change, and that no child should ever endure the horrors of abuse in silence,” Paris shared on X/Twitter. “I did this for the younger version of myself and the youth who were senselessly taken from us by the Troubled Teen Industry.”
In an interview with The Hill, Paris reflected on whether this milestone could lead to a political career. “After coming here so many times over the past couple of years and seeing that my voice really can make a difference… I can maybe see that happening,” she revealed. Her advocacy efforts have sparked speculation that Hilton could one day transition from entertainer to political figure.
Paris also took a moment to thank survivors, families, and the coalition that stood by her in this fight, writing, “To the countless survivors who shared their stories, to the families who stood with us, and to the coalition, thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with me.”
From reality TV star to an advocate for change, Paris Hilton continues to use her platform to amplify voices and address critical issues. Do you think Paris Hilton should consider running for office? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
