Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films are stacking the deck with big names for their live-action “Masters of the Universe” film, and the villain lineup is nothing short of legendary.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jared Leto is stepping into the role of Skeletor, the iconic antagonist and archenemy of He-Man. Joining him are Sam C. Wilson as the cybernetic Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as the menacing Goat Man, and Kojo Attah as the eye-focused Tri-Klops. Alison Brie rounds out the villainous squad as Evil-Lyn, Skeletor’s second-in-command.
On the hero side, Nicholas Galitzine wields the Power Sword as He-Man, with Camila Mendes taking on Teela and Idris Elba commanding respect as Man-at-Arms. With this powerhouse cast, director Travis Knight is set to bring Eternia to life like never before. Knight is tackling the project with a script by Chris Butler, based on an initial draft by David Callaham and the Nee brothers.
“Masters of the Universe” follows Prince Adam of Eternia, who transforms into He-Man, the universe’s strongest hero, thanks to his magical Power Sword. With his band of allies, He-Man defends Eternia from Skeletor and his sinister forces. The live-action adaptation will hit theaters worldwide on June 5, 2026.
The Masters of the Universe franchise has been a pop culture staple since its debut in 1982, spawning toys, animated series, and video games. With this new live-action adventure, fans can expect a larger-than-life battle for Eternia.
