The Game isn’t shy about speaking his truth, and in a recent interview, the rapper opened up about the lack of recognition he feels he receives in the West Coast hip-hop conversation. While reflecting on his contributions to the genre, The Game got emotional, sharing that his priorities have shifted.
“It’s easy for me to give my flowers to Kendrick, and YG, and Ice Cube, and say I love and miss Nip and do all of that,” he said. “And I get left out of all the conversations, I get left off the murals, I don’t give a f*ck about none of that. I literally am just trying to stay alive to see my daughter walk down the aisle, and that’s it. My purpose is only to be a father.”
The Game’s raw emotion resonated deeply, especially considering he just welcomed a new son earlier this month. Evelyn Lozada, grandmother to the baby, celebrated the arrival on social media, sharing a heartfelt post about the family’s joy. “This little blue-eyed angel made me a grandma, and I’m forever grateful!” Lozada wrote. “You’ve brought so much joy into my life that words can’t even explain. I love you more than anything, Blaze Taylor!”
The rapper has also addressed online speculation about his relationship with fellow West Coast artist Kendrick Lamar. Earlier this year, rumors circulated after The Game was absent from Kendrick’s “Pop Out” show. Taking to Instagram Live, The Game made it clear there’s no beef. “Stop speculating and doing all that goofy sh*t,” he said. “Muthafkas in my DM, all these blog sites talking about ‘the West Coast ain’t fking with you and you ain’t this and you ain’t that.’ I be in my own lane, chilling. Taking care of my kids.”
The Game’s words are a reminder that, above all, family is what matters most to him now. He’s looking to the future, focused on fatherhood and watching his kids grow up.
