Mariah Carey is proving that no one does Christmas like her. Billboard just announced that her iconic holiday anthem, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” has officially reached a record-breaking milestone. Not only has the song ruled the Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks this year, but its total tally of 17 weeks at number one makes it Mariah’s longest-running chart-topper since its release in 1994.

Taking to Instagram to celebrate, the “Queen of Christmas” shared Billboard’s announcement with a heartfelt caption: “This is amazing!!!! Will never ever ever ever ever take this for granted. Merry early Christmas!!!!”

Previously, Mariah’s longest-running number one hit was her 1995 collaboration with Boyz II Men, “One Sweet Day.” But now, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” stands poised to take things even further. If it remains atop the chart for just two more weeks, it could tie for the all-time longest-running number one, a record currently held by Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

Given its relentless holiday streaming, radio play, and sheer festive magic, it’s not a stretch to think Mariah could make history once again this year—or if not, there’s always next Christmas for another run at the title.

Mariah’s track has become the unofficial soundtrack to the holiday season, and as her festive photos and spirit continue to light up social media, it’s clear she has no plans to step down from her Christmas throne.
