Vanessa Morgan just got the ultimate Christmas gift—a diamond ring!

The Riverdale alum revealed on Instagram that she’s officially engaged to professional basketball player James Karnik, calling him her “fiancé” in a heartwarming holiday post. Karnik popped the question on December 21 at Glow Langley in Canada, creating a magical moment under a sea of festive lights.

The engagement was nothing short of extraordinary. Karnik presented Morgan with a custom-designed 4.64-carat oval-shaped engagement ring from Brilliant Earth, complete with blue marquise cut diamonds shaped like butterflies and set on a 14K rose gold band. “When I saw the ring, it was just stunning,” Morgan shared, adding that the surprise proposal left her speechless.

The actress explained how Karnik, despite being on crutches from a recent foot injury, insisted on taking her to the light festival. “I asked him if he was sure he wanted to walk around on crutches, and he said, ‘For you, I’ll do it. I know how much you love this,’” she told People. Karnik cleverly ditched the crutches mid-proposal, pretending to fix his shoe before getting down on one knee.

Morgan was completely caught off guard. “It was a complete shock,” she said, admitting she thought he’d propose on Christmas Day. But when the moment came, surrounded by the glow of holiday lights, it felt like a real-life fairy tale. Karnik echoed the sentiment, saying he couldn’t imagine a better partner to take this next step in life with.

This marks a fresh chapter for Morgan, who shares two children: River, 3, with ex-husband Michael Kopech, and daughter Kaia, born this past July with Karnik. While her first marriage ended in divorce, Morgan now looks forward to her happily-ever-after with Karnik.
